Sue Crosby was named investment director-endowments and foundations, for Mercer's investment business.
It is a new position. Ms. Crosby will oversee all of Mercer's U.S. endowments and foundations business development initiatives.
Ms. Crosby, a partner, joined Mercer in November, focused on expanding the firm's implemented consulting business and supporting its endowment and foundation consulting practice. Her new broader role is in keeping with a recent reorganization that effectively breaks down the distinction between traditional and implemented consulting services, allowing Mercer professionals to bring the “complete spectrum” of the firm's capabilities to bear in serving clients, John Nussbaumer, Mercer's U.S. investment director, said in a telephone interview.
Separately, Dan Burke was named investment director, alternative investments, Mr. Nussbaumer said.
It is also a new position. Mr. Burke will have national responsibility for all business development efforts across Mercer's alternative offerings, including funds of funds for hedge funds and private equity.
Mr. Burke will keep his role as investment director for the Northeast market.
