New Mexico State Investment Council, Santa Fe, issued an RFP for managers to run an international equity portfolio that would include up to $2 billion in active management.
The full amount of the portfolio has not been determined, said Charles Wollmann, director of communications at the $15.3 billion council.
Managers would run large-cap value, core or growth; international small-cap and emerging markets strategies. The most one manager will run is $1 billion. The number of managers to be hired has not been determined.
Incumbent AllianceBernstein, which manages about $1 billion each in passive developed markets and active emerging markets equities — can rebid, said Mr. Wollmann. The source of the remainder of the funding also has not been determined.
The RFP is located on the council's website at www.sic.state.nm.us/PDF%20files/20120305%20RFP%2012-0021%20International%20Equity%20FINAL.pdf
Responses are due April 13, with selections planned for the Aug. 8 council meeting.
