David Chene and Tom Bauwens were named managing directors of European corporate distressed debt at CarVal Investors, a money manager owned by Cargill.
Messrs. Chene and Bauwens will report to John Brice, president and chief investment officer of CarVal, which oversees more than $9 billion of credit and real estate investments, the firm said Friday in an e-mailed statement to Bloomberg News. They will be based in London.
Mr. Chene was Credit Suisse’s head of European distressed credit trading, while Mr. Bauwens was a managing director at Goldman Sachs’ European special situations group, according to CarVal.
CarVal was founded by Cargill in 1987.
