New Mexico State Investment Council, Santa Fe, issued an RFP for an auditor, according to the RFP.
The investment council launched the search because state regulations require replacement of its auditor every third contract period, said Charles Wollmann, director of communications for the $15.3 billion fund in an e-mail.
Moss Adams is the incumbent.
The RFP is available on the investment council's website.
Responses are due April 6, with a selection expected in June.
Separately, the board at its Feb. 28 meeting voted to issue an RFP in early March for an international equity manager to run an approximately $2 billion portfolio as part of a review of its portfolio. Incumbent AllianceBernstein will be invited to rebid. The number of managers selected and the exact size of the mandate are yet to be determined.
At the same time, the investment council voted to extend AllianceBernstein's contract for six months pending completion of the RFP. Council officials expect to issue the RFP in the first week of March, with selection “a few months subsequent,” Mr. Wollmann said.
