Joshua G. Levine will join BlackRock in March as a managing director in the firm’s global client group, confirmed spokesman Brian Beades.
The position is new. Mr. Levine will join Al Goduti, a managing director in BlackRock’s global client group, in heading up the firm’s pension fund efforts. While sharing responsibility for clients and business efforts in the Midwest, Mr. Levine will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with institutional investors, primarily public and corporate pension plans, on the East Coast and Mr. Goduti will oversee the West Coast, confirmed Mr. Beades.
It will be a return to BlackRock for Mr. Levine, where he had been BlackRock’s director of Latin American institutional business. From January 2008 through December 2011, Mr. Levine was an executive vice president at The Permal Group, serving as co-head of global sales and head of the firm’s Americas institutional sales team.
Shane Clifford replaced Mr. Levine as head of U.S. institutional sales at Permal. Under a reorganization at the firm following Mr. Levine’s departure, Roberto Giuffrida, his co-head of global sales, was named to the new position of head of global business development, said Permal spokeswoman Mary Athridge. The title of head of global sales was eliminated, she said.
