New Mexico Educational Retirement Board, Santa Fe, invested $75 million in ICE Canyon Global Strategic Income Fund and committed $40 million to W Capital Partners Fund III, Bob Jacksha, chief investment officer for the $9.3 billion fund, wrote in an e-mail.
The ICE Canyon fund is an actively managed emerging markets opportunistic credit portfolio. The W Capital Partners' fund is a private equity fund that invests on the secondary market.
The board has a $429.8 million private equity portfolio and a 10% target allocation to the asset class.
Separately, the board plans to commit $230 million to private equity this year, not including about an $80 million uncommitted allocation from prior years that will be committed to global growth buyout funds, according to a private equity investment plan adopted by the board.
