Kansas City (Mo.) Employees’ Retirement System hired Templeton Investment Counsel to manage active international small-cap equities, said Richard Boersma, executive officer.
Officials at the $850 million pension fund have not yet determined the allocation or funding source and might finalize those at a March 28 board meeting, he said.
Also, the $400 million Kansas City (Mo.) Firefighters’ Pension System hired Eagle Capital Management to run up to $30 million in active domestic large-cap value equities, Mr. Boersma said.
Funding comes from the termination of AllianceBernstein, which ran $30 million in a similar portfolio. Mr. Boersma said the termination was the result of a “typical review” of the system’s investment manager structure.
