Orange County Employees Retirement System, Santa Ana, Calif., committed $50 million to the 2012 Abbott Capital Annual Program Fund and $35 million to Adams Street 2012 Global Offering, said Robert Kinsler, spokesman for the $9.4 billion pension fund, in an e-mail.
The new private equity commitments were made at Wednesday's investment committee meeting and do not require full board approval, Mr. Kinsler wrote.
Separately, the pension fund's investments returned 3.72% in the 12 months ended Jan. 31, according to an investment report provided to the board at its Tuesday meeting.
