Flintshire County Council Clwyd Pension Fund, Mold, Wales, is searching for a frontier markets equity or multiasset manager to run £7 million ($11 million), said Sam Gervaise-Jones, director at bfinance, which is assisting with the search.
The strategy is expected to comprise at least 70% equity, but could include debt and/or property, Mr. Gervaise-Jones said.
This is the £1.1 billion pension fund’s first move into frontier markets, an asset class expected to boost both diversification and returns, Mr. Gervaise-Jones said.
Proposals are due April 4, with a successful manager expected to be funded by July 1.
