Michael A. Jones was named president, CEO and chairman of Pyramis Global Advisors, effective “mid-March,” according to a news release.
He replaces Kevin C. Uebelein, who will take on a new role as global head of solutions delivery for Pyramis.
Mr. Jones will report directly to Ronald P. O'Hanley, president of Pyramis parent Fidelity Asset Management.
Mr. Jones was president of U.S. asset management at Columbia Management, overseeing more than $326 billion in assets, according to the release.
Ryan Lund, a spokesman for Columbia parent Ameriprise Financial, said in an e-mailed response to questions that Mr. Jones won't be replaced. His responsibilities are being assumed by other members of Columbia's leadership team.
