Cynthia Sweeney Barnes, managing director and global head of sovereigns and supranationals at HSBC Global Asset Management, has left the company, spokeswoman Jenne Mannion said.
Ms. Barnes wanted “to pursue other opportunities,” according to Ms. Mannion, who declined to elaborate. Efforts to reach Ms. Barnes were unsuccessful.
There are no immediate plans to replace Ms. Barnes, whose responsibilities will be assumed by existing staff, Ms. Mannion said.
Ms. Barnes was appointed in 2007 as global head of sovereigns and supranationals, in what was a new position at the time. She joined HSBC in 2001. At HSBC, she also held the position of director and regional head of liquidity solutions group in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
