Maryland State Retirement & Pension System, Baltimore, issued an RFI for firms to provide foreign tax agent, accounting, compliance and consulting services to the $35.4 billion retirement system.
The number of firms that the system could hire is undetermined. Selected firms will likely be for a five-year contract with the option for two one-year renewals, according to the RFI.
The services include an initial review for withholding reclaims, acting as a local tax agent and assisting with tax filings, reclaims and repatriation of funds, as well as other tax, accounting and compliance consulting services.

Proposals are due at 4 p.m. EST March 2. A selection date was not provided.
