Milwaukee County Employees' Retirement System issued an RFP for a manager to run about $40 million in domestic midcap growth equities.
The portfolio's previous manager, Reinhart Partners, was terminated by the board of the $1.7 billion system in December when the firm announced it would close its mutual fund on Jan. 31, according to meeting minutes.
More than one manager could be selected, according to the RFP.
The RFP document is on the county's website. Proposals are due March 7. There is no date set for a hiring decision.
Investment consultant Marquette Associates is assisting.
Dale Yerkes, fiscal officer at the retirement system, was not available for comment.
