Kern County Employees' Retirement Association, Bakersfield, Calif., is searching for a qualified accounting firm to audit the $2.74 billion system's financial statements, according to the RFP on the association's website.
The contract is expected to be for three years with a three-year extension. The audits would be for the fiscal year ending June 30, and for each of the two subsequent fiscal years.
The Segal Co. conducts annual actuarial valuations that monitor the association's funding status on a triennial basis. That contract is not affected by this search.
Anne M. Holdren, the association's executive director, could not be reached seeking further information by deadline.
Responses are due by 5 p.m. PDT March 23, with selection May 16, contracts signed June 13.
