Craig Weber was named CEO at advisory services and research firm Celent, he confirmed in a telephone interview.
Mr. Weber will replace Mike Harding, who was named CEO after Celent was acquired by global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman in 2009. Mr. Harding will remain chairman of Celent and also will resume his responsibilities as senior partner at Oliver Wyman.
Mr. Weber said Mr. Harding was brought in as CEO for the transition. “The intention was always to have him return to his position and then hire someone in-house,” Mr. Weber said in a phone interview.
Mr. Weber was a senior vice president and head of the global insurance division at Celent. He said will continue to serve as head of the insurance division in the Americas. London-based Catherine Stagg-Macey, senior vice president-insurance, will head up the European insurance division.
