New York City Retirement Systems made a $225 million commitment to Vista Equity Partners Fund IV, confirmed Michael Loughran, a spokesman for New York City Comptroller John Liu.
Mr. Liu is investment adviser, custodian and trustee to the five city pension funds, which have combined assets of $115.2 billion.
The Vista fund is a buyout fund that concentrates on software and other technology companies.
The New York City pension system has made previous commitments totaling $114.7 million to two other Vista Equity Partners funds, Mr. Loughran said in an e-mail.
