Kentucky Public Employees' Deferred Compensation Authority, Frankfort, plans to issue an RFP in January for a strategic planning consulting firm for its 457 and 401(k) plans, said Chris Helvey, assistant to Robert Brown, executive director.
There is no firm currently fulfilling this role. The board of the combined $1.8 billion plans authorized staff to draw up the RFP at its Dec. 8 meeting.
“The board wants to take look at the entire operation — the way we're set up, our record keeping, functionality within the system's processes, the whole nine yards — something we haven't done in a number of years and felt we needed to do,” Mr. Helvey said in a phone interview.
The RFP will be posted on the state's website, http://kentucky.gov.
