Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System, Columbus, issued an RFP for a timber manager to run about $30 million, Dan Weiss, executive director. confirmed in an e-mail.
The $682 million system had announced in October it would issue an RFP. It is the result of “general concerns” with current manager Timbervest, which is invited to rebid. He did not elaborate.
The RFP document is available on the Ohio fund's website.
Proposals are due Jan. 11. Selection of finalists is expected Jan. 26, with presentations taking place Feb. 22. Manager selection is expected on March 26.
Investment consultant Hartland & Co. is assisting.
