Stephen Warren was named global head of portfolio construction and risk management for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, according to a GSAM client letter obtained by Pensions & Investments.
Mr. Warren replaces James Clark, who will retire at the end of the year, according to the letter.
Mr. Warren will provide senior oversight of risk positioning across the entire global fixed-income platform, according to the letter. He has 11 years of experience with the GSAM global fixed-income team and is currently a member of the cross-sector team; he will continue to contribute to that team.
He will report to Jonathan Beinner, chief investment officer and co-head of global fixed income and liquidity management, and Andrew Wilson, the other co-head of global fixed income and liquidity management.
Mr. Clark had been a member of the fixed-income unit for 17 years.
