Cynthia Steer resigned as managing director, investment strategy and consulting, with Russell Investments “to pursue other interests,” according to an e-mail from the company Monday.
Reached by telephone, Ms. Steer, who joined Russell a year ago, confirmed she had left but declined further comment.
Ms. Steer will not be replaced; her responsibilities will be assumed by Russell's Americas institutional consulting team, said Kate Stouffer, a Russell spokeswoman.
The statement by Russell thanked Ms. Steer for “her contributions … especially in the areas of foreign exchange, sovereign risk and emerging markets.” Ms. Steer joined Russell in December 2010 from Rogerscasey, where she served as a managing director and chief research strategist, beta research.
