East Riding of Yorkshire Council Pension Fund, Goole, England, committed €12.5 million ($17 million) to AMP Capital Investors' infrastructure debt fund, confirmed Ian Sandiford, senior portfolio manager at the £2.3 billion ($3.6 billion) pension fund.
It is the pension fund's first infrastructure debt investment, which was made opportunistically as part of its 2.5% target allocation to infrastructure. The fund currently invests about £40 million in infrastructure equity.
“In terms of our portfolio, we thought it was a good addition to the mix,” Mr. Sandiford said. The fund is not looking to make additional infrastructure debt investments.
