Daniel J. Greene was named executive director of the $3.3 billion Boston Retirement Board, a spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday.
Mr. Greene, who was interim executive director, will remain investment officer of the Boston fund. However, it's unclear whether the plan will fill the deputy director role he played before stepping in for Kathleen Kiely-Becchetti, who left the pension fund to become executive director of the $450 million Norfolk County Retirement System, Canton in March.
Mr. Greene's appointment followed a nationwide search for candidates to fill the executive director position.
