Peter Gerlings joined Rogerscasey as managing director, investment solutions.
The position — overseeing the consulting firm's multimanager solutions platform, including the firm's target-date retirement funds and model portfolios for financial intermediaries — is new, said Patricia McKinell, managing director, marketing and sales.
Some of those responsibilities previously were overseen by John Nawrocki, managing director and practice leader of the firm's multimanager solutions group, who left in October. Mr. Gerlings has assumed Mr. Nawrocki's investment-related duties while COO John C. Ferrara, who joined in March, will take over his operational responsibilities, Ms. McKinell said.
Mr. Gerlings was a managing director at K2 Advisors, where he focused on educational outreach with clients on the uses of hedge funds in institutional portfolios. A K2 spokesman said he hasn't been replaced.
Mr. Nawrocki, meanwhile, has joined Rocaton Investment Advisors as managing director, investment solutions. It is a new position.
Asked if Mr. Nawrocki's hiring means Rocaton will join the growing list of investment consulting firms entering the outsourced CIO market, Robin Pellish, Rocaton's CEO, said her firm is in the planning and discussion phase, but no final decisions have been made.
