Michael Moran was named pension strategist at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, according to an internal memo obtained by P&I Daily.
The position is new.
Mr. Moran will focus on areas such as “plan funded status, contribution activity and dynamic asset allocation,” while working with clients “on issues specific to their defined benefit and defined contribution plans,” according to the memo from Craig Russell, a managing director with GSAM.
Mr. Moran was a vice president with parent Goldman Sachs & Co.’s Global Markets Institute, where he advised corporate, government and investment clients on “issues related to capital markets, financial reporting, valuation, asset allocation and regulatory matters,” the memo said. Pinar Posluk, a spokeswoman for GSAM, didn’t immediately have information on whether Mr. Moran’s position in the Global Markets Institute has been filled.
Mr. Moran couldn’t be reached for comment.
