David Dredge and Andrew Wong joined alternatives manager Fortress Investment Group as co-chief investment officers and managing directors of the firm’s new convex strategies group, which will manage tail-risk hedging strategies.
Julian Ings-Chambers is managing director and head of business development and investor relations for the new investment team, Gordon Runte, a Fortress spokesman, confirmed in an interview.
The team came from Singapore-based specialist volatility hedge fund manager Artradis Fund Management, which closed on March 31. Messrs. Dredge and Wong were portfolio managers and Mr. Ings-Chambers was a managing director. The Singapore-based team is part of Fortress’ liquid-markets business.
Fortress plans to start a volatility-based convexity fund next year, Adam Levinson, co-CIO of Fortress’ macro funds, said at a hedge fund conference in Singapore on Oct. 21, without providing details.
