James Carver was named investment director, absolute-return bond funds, at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, effective Oct. 7, confirmed spokeswoman Paula Sutherland.
He will replace Neil Murray, global head of credit, on SWIP’s absolute-return bond strategies. Mr. Murray moved to New York in April to head SWIP’s new fixed-income office and retained his global head of credit duties, Ms. Sutherland said in an e-mailed response to questions.
Based in Edinburgh, Mr. Carver will report to Graeme Caughey, SWIP’s global head of rates.
Mr. Carver was an emerging markets debt portfolio manager at Aberdeen Asset Management. His duties have been divided among existing staff, said James Thorneley, Aberdeen spokesman.
