Sidney M. Marder resigned as trustee of the $37.1 billion Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System, Springfield, confirmed David Urbanek, system spokesman, by e-mail.
Mr. Marder’s departure is the second from the system’s board this year. Livia M. Kiser resigned in April because of conflicts with her private law practice, according to a news release from the fund at the time.
Mr. Marder is moving out of the state and is ineligible to serve on the teachers’ fund board. He and Ms. Kiser were two of six trustees appointed in June 2009 by Gov. Pat Quinn.
The terms of both expire in 2014. A timetable has not been set for naming their replacements, Mr. Urbanek said.
