Jonathan Glidden was named managing director, pensions & investments, for Delta Air Lines Inc., Atlanta, confirmed James L. Schroeder, executive vice president with DHR International, the executive recruiting firm responsible for the search.
Mr. Glidden will oversee more than $17 billion in defined benefit and defined contribution assets for Delta.
The position is new. Reached by telephone, Mr. Glidden confirmed he would be joining Delta on Oct. 17 but declined further comment.
Mr. Glidden was director of portfolio construction and manager research at Wilmington Trust Investment Management. Neither Megen Morris, a spokeswoman for Wilmington Trust, nor Greg Tahvonen, director-retirement plans and global compensation at Delta, could be reached for comment.
