Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System, Harrisburg, will issue an RFP in November for an actuarial consultant, confirmed James Allen, secretary of the $1.6 billion system.
The contract of the current actuary, Cheiron Associates, expires June 30, 2012, Mr. Allen said in a telephone interview. A decision will be expected in January or February.
Separately, the system will review finalist presentations for active international equity managers at its Nov. 17 board meeting. Proposals are still being taken for at least one value manager to run $130 million, and the second for one or more growth managers to run a total of $105 million.
The RFPs are at the website of Dahab Associates, which is assisting.
Proposals for the growth search are due at 5 p.m. EDT Oct. 18. Proposals for the value search are due at 5 p.m. EDT Oct. 19.
