Henk Brouwer was named chairman of the board of trustees at the €242 billion ($335 billion) Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP, Heerlen, Netherlands, effective Jan 1, according to an ABP news release.
He will replace Ed Nijpels, who resigned last year amid a government investigation into the collapse of DSB Bank; Mr. Nijpels had served on the bank's supervisory board.
Mr. Brouwer was a director responsible for banking supervision and supervisory policy at De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch central bank. He left in July.
