Texas Teacher Retirement System, Austin, currently is searching for a CFO, according to a notice on the $105.4 billion system's website.
Former CFO Kenneth Welch was appointed deputy director of the system on Sept. 1, but continues to “perform the CFO duties along with his new deputy director duties,” wrote Juliana Helton, a spokeswoman for the system, in an e-mail. Information about the timing of new CFO's hire was not available, she wrote in the e-mail.
The CFO will work under the direction of Mr. Welch in areas of strategic planning, program development, executive management and administration of all of the fund's fiscal operations.
The deadline for resumes is Sept. 26, according to the notice posted on the fund's website.
Mr. Welch replaced Brian Guthrie as deputy director; Mr. Guthrie replaced the retiring Ronnie Jung as the system's executive director.
