Peter Zangari joined MSCI as managing director and head of equity portfolio management analytics, according to a statement from the company.
Mr. Zangari’s duties will include overseeing product innovation in equity portfolio management products, including Barra risk and performance attribution models and Barra portfolio manager. He will report to Henry Fernandez, MSCI chairman and CEO.
Kenneth W. Juarez, MSCI spokesman, was unable to provide further details by press time.
Mr. Zangari was managing director and head of risk for quantitative investment strategies at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He left at the end of July and won’t be replaced, said Ed Canaday, Goldman Sachs spokesman. GSAM risk management team members have assumed his responsibilities.
