Ho Yew Weng was named director of institutional sales, Asia ex-Japan, at Acadian Asset Management in Singapore.
The position is new.
He will report to Rick Barry, managing director of Acadian’s Singapore office.
Mr. Ho was a managing director at Vanguard Investments Singapore, focusing on institutional relationships in North Asia, according to an Acadian news release. Rebecca Katz, a spokeswoman for Vanguard, said Rahul Bhalla has replaced Mr. Ho in that position. Mr. Bhalla had previously been a sales executive with Vanguard in Singapore.
In a telephone interview, Churchill Franklin, executive vice president and COO at Acadian, said Asia ex-Japan clients currently account for 5% of Acadian’s roughly $50 billion in assets under management.
