Russell Campbell, who joined Marco Consulting Group as CEO in August 2010, left the company last week to pursue other interests after Jack Marco, the firm's co-founder and chairman, decided to take back the CEO role.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Marco said “I've always been a hands-on guy,” and directing the business as both chairman and CEO was simply a more efficient structure.
In an e-mail, Mr. Campbell said he's looking to launch a new registered investment advisory firm by September, “which will focus on helping money management firms to refine their business models.”
Mr. Campbell wrote that, having led five different investment firms over his career, he is now writing a book about managing those businesses. He said he has “a lot of respect for Jack, and (I) wish him good luck.”
