Karen Carraher was named executive director of the $75 billion Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Columbus, confirmed spokeswoman Julie Graham-Price.
Her appointment is effective immediately.
Ms. Carraher was finance director and served as interim executive director since Feb. 28, following the departure of Christopher DeRose, Ms. Graham-Price said in a telephone interview.
Mr. DeRose is vice president of client services for strategic accounts at Ingenix, a health-care information technology and services firm.
Ms. Graham-Price said the system has not yet chosen a new finance director to replace Ms. Carraher.
