Tom Murphy, a senior partner at Mercer, was named head of the company's U.S. investment management business, effective Sept. 1.
Mr. Murphy will replace Ken Crotty, who will focus exclusively on his other positions as global chief operating officer for both Mercer's investment management and investment consulting businesses, confirmed spokesman Bruce Lee.
Mr. Murphy will remain a senior partner; he was head of investment management for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Michael Dempsey, principal and head of Mercer’s investment management business in Ireland, will replace Mr. Murphy as head of EMEA. Mr. Dempsey will retain his Ireland responsibilities until a replacement can be named, Mr. Lee said.
