Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund, Columbus, named Franklin Templeton, Pyramis Global Advisors and Dimensional Fund Advisors to run a total of about $650 million in active international small-cap equities, according to David Graham, spokesman for the $11.3 billion fund.
These are the system's first dedicated international small-cap equities hires. No decision has been made on how the assets will be divided, Mr. Graham wrote in an e-mail.
The fund added the international small-cap equities allocation to its asset mix in July 2010; ultimately it will make up 25% of the international equities portfolio, Mr. Graham wrote. The international equities portfolio had $2.99 billion, or 24% of total assets, as of June 30.
He said the mandate likely would be funded in part with assets from an international equity portfolio run by Acadian Asset Management, which was terminated in August 2010 for diversification reasons.
