Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, is searching for active emerging markets equity managers, confirmed Dana T. Brown, director of public markets.
The $14.1 billion system will issue a solicitation for proposals within the next week, said Mr. Brown in a telephone interview. The asset size and funding source have yet to be determined.
Separately, the system hired Boston Co. Asset Management and Brown Advisory to run $300 million each in active domestic large-cap growth equities. The other finalists were T. Rowe Price and Westfield Capital Management.
Aletheia Research & Management had managed the $600 million portfolio in a similar style. The system's investment consultant, Hewitt EnnisKnupp, in April had recommended that Aletheia be terminated because of the legal controversies surrounding the firm.
