St. Louis City Employees Retirement System is searching for at least one law firm to provide securities fraud monitoring and/or litigation counsel, confirmed Scott Harper, legal counsel to the $593 million system.
The chosen firm or firms will monitor the system's investment assets for any losses that may have occurred because of violations of state and/or federal securities laws and determine the legal actions the system should take.
Current counsel Berman DeValerio will continue to represent the system, according to Mr. Harper. The new firms will contribute to the plan's legal representation.
The RFP is available at http://stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/employee-retirement/Publications-and-Documents.cfm . Proposals are due 3 p.m. CDT Aug. 22.
