Deborah Hazell was named regional head of HSBC Global Asset Management, North America, and CEO, HSBC Global Asset Management, U.S., confirmed HSBC spokeswoman Juanita Gutierrez.
The positions are new. The previous position of CEO, Americas, has been replaced by separate regional heads for North America and Latin America, Ms. Gutierrez said.
Pedro Bastos, CEO, HSBC Global Asset Management, Brazil, has taken on the additional, new role of regional head of HSBC Global Asset Management, Latin America.
Meanwhile, Sylvia Coutinho, who was CEO, Americas, has taken on the expanded new role of head of retail banking and wealth management, Latin America.
Ms. Hazell will focus on introducing HSBC’s global capabilities, including its emerging markets expertise, to North American institutional and retail investors, an HSBC news release said.
Ms. Hazell was CEO at Fischer Francis Trees & Watts. Michel Anastassiades will serve as FFTW’s interim CEO until a search for his replacement as head of BNP Paribas Investment Partners-North America is completed, said Laura Manley, a spokeswoman for Fischer Francis parent BNP Paribas. Once that search is completed, Mr. Anastassiades’ replacement will decide whether to fill the Fischer Francis CEO position permanently, Ms. Manley said.
Mr. Anastassiades has already taken on his next role, a new one for the group, as Paris-based global head of business development for BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Ms. Manley said.
