Janus Capital Group Inc. clients and employees are getting some expert training advice in preparation for the Life Time Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup, a series of triathlons across the country throughout the summer.
Casey Cortese, vice president of sponsorship and community relations at Janus, said in a telephone interview that employees and clients participating in the Janus Peak Performance Challenge —an internal support effort for participants — receive training tools from running experts, bimonthly e-mailed tips and a 16-week online coaching program. Participants will also receive race gear bearing the Janus logo and access to a VIP event after each race.
“It's a neat way to connect with clients,” Ms. Cortese said. “We look at our relationship with clients holistically and try to meet both their professional and personal needs.”
She said about 30 to 40 people have signed up for the challenge, the first year Janus has had the program. Participants need to compete in only one triathlon. Two of the triathlons have been run, but the remaining participating races are the Life Time Fitness Minneapolis Triathlon on July 9; the Life Time Fitness Chicago Triathlon on Aug. 28; the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Triathlon on Sept. 25; and the Toyota U.S. Open Championship Triathlon in Dallas on Oct. 2. More information about the challenge is available by e-mail.
