Bill Street was named global head of fixed-income alpha strategies at State Street Global Advisors.
The new position reflects an effort by Kevin Anderson, the global chief investment officer for fixed income and currency, to whom Mr. Street reports, to better align the business’ portfolio management and research teams, said Arlene Roberts, SSgA spokeswoman.
Previously, Mr. Street, a London-based managing director, served as co-head of active fixed income with William Cunningham. Mr. Street led the teams running active strategies in EMEA and Asia-Pacific, and Mr. Cunningham oversaw the remaining fixed-income teams and ran the research effort. Mr. Cunningham recently left the company for personal reasons, Ms. Roberts said.
Under the new structure, Mr. Street will assume responsibility for all of SSgA’s active fixed-income portfolio managers, fixed-income analysts and strategists. He will be recruiting a global head of fixed-income research — a new position, Ms. Roberts said.
In addition, Brian Kinney, managing director, government solutions, and a senior portfolio manager, has been named global head of fixed-income beta solutions. Mr. Anderson held that role before assuming the global CIO role in October, although it now is being expanded to include Mr. Kinney’s previous responsibilities.
