New Mexico State Investment Council, Santa Fe, hired Northern Trust Global Investments to manage $1.1 billion in passive domestic large-cap equities indexed to the Russell 1000, Charles Wollmann, director of communications for the $15.3 billion council, wrote in an e-mail.
The selection was made following an RFP issued in February. The portfolio was previously run in-house, Mr. Wollmann stated.
The council also voted to continue its film loan investment program. Instead of awarding producers interest-free loans and receiving a portion of the profits from the film, the council will now charge a market rate of interest for New Mexico film loans, he stated.
