Patrick T. Hughes was named vice president, U.S. institutional business development, at Franklin Templeton Investments, confirmed spokesman William Weeks.
Mr. Hughes’ position is new. He will focus on developing business opportunities with U.S. defined benefit and defined contribution clients. He will report to Scott M. Lee, managing director and senior vice president, U.S. institutional business development.
Mr. Hughes was vice president of sales and marketing for Bank of New York Mellon Transition and Beta Management, overseeing the Western U.S. BNY Mellon spokesman Michael Dunn said a search is being conducted for a replacement.
