Benji Baer was named managing director and chief marketing officer for retirement at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, confirmed spokeswoman Kristen Chambers.
The position is new, Ms. Chambers said in an interview. Ms. Baer will start on June 20.
Ms. Baer will be responsible for “developing a retirement brand, and positioning and integrating this brand with other lines of business across J.P. Morgan Chase,” according to a J.P. Morgan news release.
Ms. Baer is head of U.S. intermediary marketing at Legg Mason, Mary Athridge, director of corporate communications, said in an interview. Ms. Baer's last day at Legg Mason is Thursday.
Legg Mason plans to replace Ms. Baer, although no timetable has been established, Ms. Athridge said. In the interim, Ms. Baer's duties will be assumed by Matthew Schiffman, head of global marketing, Ms. Athridge added.
