New York State Teachers' Retirement System, Albany, renewed contracts with three investment managers to run REITs and real estate operating company securities totaling $1.34 billion, according to information posted on the system's website.
Each contract was renewed for 12 months, starting July 1, and each contract was due to expire June 30, John Cardillo, a spokesman for the system, wrote in an e-mail.
The renewals are:
• Cohen and Steers Capital Management, a combined $699 million in two funds;
• RREEF America, $345 million; and
• Adalante Capital Management, which manages $297 million, the website said.
All dollar amounts are as of March 31, Mr. Cardillo wrote. The renewals were approved April 28 at the quarterly meeting of the system's retirement board.
