Illinois State Universities Retirement System, Champaign, hired active domestic core equity managers Fiduciary Management Associates and EARNEST Partners to each manage $35 million.
Fiduciary Management will manage small caps, while EARNEST will handle midcaps.
Funding will come from reducing RhumbLine Advisers' $1 billion Wilshire 5000 index fund.
Callan Associates, investment consultant to the $14.4 billion system, assisted.
