Jack Chandler was named managing director and global head of real estate at BlackRock and will start in early June.
He succeeds Paul Audet, senior managing director, who was head of BlackRock's real estate business since 2008. Mr. Audet will take on other yet to be announced executive roles within BlackRock, wrote Jessica Greaney, vice president of corporate communications, in an e-mail.
Mr. Chandler was global chief investment officer and executive chairman for Asia at LaSalle Investment Management. Mr. Chandler had assumed those titles in January; prior to that, he was CEO of Asia Pacific. Stefanie Murphy, spokeswoman for LaSalle Investment Management, declined to say whether LaSalle would fill those positions.
“To help us keep the business moving forward with the momentum and success of the past decade, we have experienced resources covering every facet of the investment, asset management, finance and operations spectrum, including a veteran management team led by Phil Ling, Asia CEO, and Mark Gabbay, Asia CIO,” Jeff Jacobson, global CEO at LaSalle Investment Management, said in a statement.
