Mark Mactas, president and COO of consultant Towers Watson, will retire by the end of 2011, confirmed company spokesman Mike McNamara.
Mr. McNamara said a successor has not yet been named.
Mr. Mactas was CEO of Towers Perrin prior to the company's merger with Watson Wyatt in early 2010. “Now is the right time for me to consider my retirement, and I feel confident that I can take a step back later this year and watch Towers Watson thrive from a new vantage point,” Mr. Mactas said in a news release.
Mr. Mactas could not be reached for comment.
