Paul Maeder on Thursday was elected to a one-year term as chairman of the board of directors at the National Venture Capital Association, according to an e-mail from spokeswoman Emily Mendell.
Mr. Maeder is co-founder and general partner of Highland Capital Partners.
He replaces Kate Mitchell, managing general partner of Scale Venture Partners, who as chairwoman helped to push for, among other things, venture capital firms’ exemption from SEC registration under the Dodd-Frank Act.
Also, added to the board for four-year terms are Jon Callaghan, founder, True Ventures; David Douglass, general partner, Delphi Ventures; Bob Goodman, partner, Bessemer Venture Partners; Ray Leach, chief executive officer, JumpStart Inc.; Jonathan Leff, managing director, Warburg Pincus; and David Lincoln, managing partner, Element Partners.
